American Cancer Society Junior Executive Board
Mission Statement
The Junior Executive Board (JEB) was formed by young professionals in the Birmingham business community in 2003.
Since then, we have been very successful in our efforts to raise money in the fight against cancer, raising over $300,000 for cancer research, cancer patient services, education and advocacy. Our dedication, teamed with the support of The American Cancer Society and all of our generous sponsors have proven to be a powerful combination. Our goal for 2009 is to raise over $90,000 with our two signature events, The Brenda Ladun 8K Conquer Cancer Run, the Black Out Cancer Party and Wine Walk at The Summit. In January of 2009 the JEB, in partnership with ABC 33/40, hosted the 5th Annual Brenda Ladun 8K Conquer Cancer Run at Veteran's Park and raised close to $60,000.
Currently, the JEB is working on the Black Out Cancer Party. It will be on Friday, June 12th from 8-11pm and the Wine Loft DOWNTOWN. Free wine, beer and appetizers from Wine Loft and Maki Fresh with your $35 donation to the American Cancer Society. Plus, pick up your tickets at ANY of the following locations and save 20% at ALL of these great stores from Friday, June 5- Sunday, June 21st Banana Republic at The Summit, Brookwood Mall, and Riverchase Galleria, Etc- Mountain Brook Village, Harrison Limited- Mountain Brook Village, Homewood Valley Cleaners- Oxmoor Road, Ivory & White- Crestline Village, Manhattan South- Cahaba Village, Mobley & Sons- Crestline Village, Private Gallery- The Summit, Shaia's- Downtown Homewood, and The Pants Store- Crestline Village.

The Hope Lodge is “a home away from home” for cancer patients who live fifty miles or greater away from Birmingham but are here receiving treatment. At Hope Lodge, the patient and their family stay free and have transportation to and from treatments.
We have meetings, the second Tuesday every other month, to discuss the progression of our events and to remember our purpose of JEB. Meetings are held at 5:30pm in the ACS building.
